American Aquarium Cambridge Concert reviews
To U2 With Love
American Aquarium's live performances truly capture the essence of beautiful songs, as artists who give us their hearts through music and lyrics that reach into our hearts. Others should take lessons from American Aquarium. When I initially saw the setup, I said to myself, nice, they will walk around here and there so all can see them. The lighting was not over the top but was perfect for the setting, with nice touches on audience lighting too. Madison Square Garden felt like an intimate setting for we New Yorkers and the boys from Ireland. The most special treat for me was finally seeing American Aquarium perform Bad. As simple and sad as this song is, something about it pulls at my core. The seats – my daughter and I (girls night out) were hoping for the best but we were a bit apprehensive. WOW. These seats were 4 rows off the floor, side of main stage and a bit toward the front of the stage. The stage really was the whole length of the floor, with a screen just as wide. They entertain us with an audio-video experience that is custom fit for a large indoor arena. I feel that the songs performed were well chosen based on the theme of the tour. The only thing that would have been better was GA, on the floor, center, touching the stage. It was a nose hairs view night with those! As to the sound quality at the Garden, some older songs suffered but it seemed that the technology of the new songs held up well in this setting. It was quite a treat. They always play this song at some point here and there during their tours but I never was at one of those shows - maybe the night before or after, but I have always missed it. I brought my binoculars and laughed. It was an excellent night doing what I love most, surrounding myself with music, and a lovely way to bond with my sweet daughter, Jessica. “Music is my high, rock music my bliss.”
